| Tonight I will be going to a free show at UCF with Anberlin, Jack's
Mannequin, Story of the Year, and Mae. I can't believe it's free.
Anyways this entire weekend I will be traveling back and forth to Orlando. Should be... umm... fun. | | |
| So yeah last night we were all pulled into playing a concert in
Orlando at the last minute. It went really well. The sound was
amazing... I have to say Luis Sandoz is the best sound engineer I have
ever met. We have never sounded that good (I say that with total
humility). It probably had something to do with the fact that we were
playing through a $150,000 sound system, but still... It was a small
crowd but that really didn't matter... God was worshipped.
Another highlight of the night was another group Sword of Faith
(check my profile song on my myspace... myspace.com/pochorojo26). I really liked their sound. They are an
amazingly anointed regeaton group. Those of you who know me know that
I am generally iffy about regeaton because it is not really all that
musical. It can be too repetative for me. These guys were very
musical in their melodic tendencies (not monotone rap) and maintained
an incredible intensity in their music. Seriously, check out their
myspace. They are awesome!!!
Be praying for us... things are starting to get really busy. Our schedule is as follows.
Oct. 28 - Centro de La Familia Cristiana en Orlando
Oct. 29 - City Church Network reunion in Orlando
Oct. 31 - Denny and I will be playing with the Fire Dweller band at the Melbourne Square Mall
Nov. 12 - Florida State Fair at the Cocoa Expo 3pm-6pm
TBA - House of Blues Orlando
TBA - House of Blues Chicago
TBA - Spain
TBA - Puerto Rico
TBA - Dominican Republic

| IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? So, here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button 6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool..

| I got the day off of work today, so I had to figure out other things I could do to fill up my day. After waking up with a massive headache, I decided that ibuprofine (sp?) would be the best course of action. Now I am here.
While waiting for the medication to kick in this morning, I was watching the news. Deputies in Lakeland had to kill a man this morning who less than 24 hours earlier had shot and killed another deputy. When they found him this morning he tried shooting at them with the very gun of the deputy he had murdered the day before. How does somebody even consider taking somebody elses life w/o even considering the consequences . Not only did he murder a human being, but it was a deputy sherriff. We're talking about the personal friend of those who would be responsible for finding him. Did he really think he would be able to fight off over 100 deputies with one handgun? I don't believe so. I think he was either suicidal or extremely delusional. Either way, the extent of the consequences of his actions have now gone from lifelong to eternal. That man will never, ever have another opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness for his actions. Some people might say, "He deserved what he got" or "God wouldn't forgive him for such a thing". The truth is, that depite how horrific what he did may be, it is no worse in God's eyes than me telling a little lie about something that doesn't really matter. No... I have no right to judge a homosexual because when I look at a woman in a lustful way it is just as bad. The very act of me judging that man or woman makes me worse than them. It goes for the child molester, the drug abuser, the alcoholic, the wife beater, the white supremacist, the black supremacist (for lack of a better term), the pornographer, lazy people, the self-righteous religious people (myself included), atheists, radical muslims(including terrorists), and the list goes on. God's love is very real for every single one of those people. All any of them has to do is ask God for forgiveness and repent and they will be saved. They don't have to change the way they dress, the way they look or anything. God will change them to how he wants them to be. If their conversion experience is real, there will be fruit. I'm getting sick and tired of the expectation that all Christians have to look and sound like white middle class Republicans. There is nothing in the Bible that says that. I'm about ready to get a few tattoos, and I know that when I do, it will offend a lot of the Christians I know. Why??? Because, because they took one scripture (Leviticus 19:28) out of context. It says to not mark your body with tattoos. Do you know why God told them that? The very first commandment in the ten commandments is that they "should have no other gods before ME". In that time, a tattoo was a symbol of devotion to another god. God wanted the people of Israel to be His and His alone. Today, tattoos are not restricted to one purpose. Some people enjoy body art for vanity sake. Some people have tattoos as reminders, as statements of something significant in their lives. As for me, I plan on using it as a reminder and a marker of what I have to live up to in my walk. One last thing to rant about before I go . If you noticed, I just questioned God about why he said something. That in and of itself will offend many religious people. After all we're not supposed to question God. Right??? WRONG!!! We are no longer slaves of God, but are now friends of God (John 15:15). We have the right (only through His grace) to question why he says what he says. That doesn't always mean that he will answer you the way you want him to. Nevertheless, we are privelidged to know and understand the heart of God behind His actions. Not following blindly like a slave doing what he is told just because. I am free!!!
That's all for now. Blessings, Phillip

| Well... The show was alright I guess. I don't know how it sounded from the listeners point of view, but , from where I was sitting it was beyond hectic. I knew it would be crowded inside the studio because the band is pretty big. However, I did not know that everybody and their mother would be there as well. Regardless, I'm glad it's over. If you listened to the program, let me know how it sounded, I'm curious as to how it went.
Blessings, Phillip
